I considered going through and tweaking the shpiel I had here originally about why I liked this pairing, then I decided I might as well just completely rewrite the entire thing at this point.

Basically, it started with a factor that draws many people to their chosen pairings, and it's one that I'm sure will come as no surprise to you: I love Cid, and I love Vincent. Along with Barret, they're probably my favorite characters in the game. SO IN THE GRAND TRADITION OF FANGIRLS PAST, I ENJOY SMASHING THEM TOGETHER AND MAKING KISSY SOUNDS, CANON BE BUGGERED

But apart from that, Cid and Vin have two very different personalities that can lead to interesting personality clashes, thus interesting stories (to me, anyway) and a relationship with a fun spark to it. I like couples that can bicker or fight or whatever, so they fit into that category well.

Also, while I'm being honest/shallow, I think they look good together. They have nice contrasting colors. Also a fun height difference.

But mostly they have the potential for fun stories and fun interactions with each other, whether they're banging each other or not, and I like reading about them because I love them both. And I guess that's really what it comes down to in the end.
