Since I played the game when it first came out on the PC, it had no voice acting. It wasn't until much much later (possibly just a year ago) that I found out that the 3DO version (the version that UQM is ported from) had voices.
I was completely horrified by them.
However, thanks to the generousity of several people and a deepseated curiousity, I also managed to get my hands on the Japanese dub of Starcon2, which on the whole I've found I like much better (then again, given how horrible the voices were in SC2 almost anything would be better). If you're as curious as I am, I did a massive two part Voice Comparison, where you can download some of the Japanese voice clips and their corresponding English ones, if you want to compare. :D Fwiffo sounds adorable in Japanese.
