"I need to go out!"
"What for?" Prof. Denka's voice was flat and bordering on the point of not being a question, settling on the tone of a tired parent with an overenthusiastic child. Dr. Dowasure was sitting on a chair, his legs curled up near his chest and his hands resting on the seat cushion, giving him the appearance of a cat sitting and waiting for something. He was staring at Prof. Denka with earnest, shining eyes.
"I don't know, I just have nothing to do. Please? I can go out and get some supplies or something, I can do anything, I'll just walk around the grounds even, but can't I go out?"
Dr. Dowasure was an adult, he didn't need to ask, but it seemed that he so desperately needed a controlling figure in his life, a parental figure, that he had latched onto Prof. Denka in hopes that he would provide it. Prof. Denka had become used to this now, but it still striked him as odd that a full-grown man would be asking him if he could leave his presence.
Still, if he needed him to be this for him...then that was what he would do.
"I don't know, it looked like it was going to snow. You do know that, right?"
Dr. Dowasure nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, I love snow!"
Prof. Denka sighed at that. Despite all of its downfalls and his many arguments against it, Dr. Dowasure never seemed to tire of the cold weather, never tired of just playing in the snow, as if this would be his only chance. Living just for today...
He wondered where that phrase came from as well.
"Well, you can only go out around the grounds, okay? I don't want to have to go trudging around everywhere looking for you."
"Okay!" Dr. Dowasure smiled brightly, lept off the chair, and ran off with startling speed. Prof. Denka watched him run and couldn't suppress a smile.
"Don't run so fast, you'll-"
Dr. Dowasure's shuffling in-turned walk couldn't take such a sudden change, and he slid across the floor, directly into a wall. He didn't even seem to register the event happening, only turning and running off in a different direction. Prof. Denka shook his head. He could never tell whether or not Dowasure was truly in pain when he fell or hurt himself in these kind of ways. In some ways it was easy to tell when he was hurting, Dr. Dowasure cried so easily, but there were other times when the pain was very hard to see, hidden behind those bright brown eyes...
~~~
It had been an hour. Dr. Dowasure always came back fairly soon, to ask if anyone else would play with him, but this time he had not returned, and Prof. Denka, coerced into the role of parent as he was, was, despite himself, feeling a deep concern for him.
He hoped that he hadn't gotten hurt, perhaps fallen in a hole hidden by snow, or gotten buried, or attacked by some creature, or was just lost...
He shook his head at his own paranoid fantasies, what almost all parents get when their child is out of sight, and he stood, sighing, as he wrapped his scarf around his neck.
Knowing Dowasure, he would probably just be sitting outside and wave happily to him as he came out, not knowing why Prof. Denka would be worried or upset that he hadn't come to check in with him after a while...
He sighed and closed the door behind him, turning off the lights.
~~~
The world was a whirling maze of white, hard to see through, when he opened the door to the outside grounds. Closing it swiftly behind him, knowing the complaints that came from others when the door was left open for too long, he turned to survey the area. The snow was falling softly, creating a mist like atmosphere that made it hard to see for a few feet. He peered in all directions, his grey eyes searching out that solitary splotch of black that made it easy to spot Dowasure in the snow, but he saw nothing.
His worry increased steadily at this and he began walking.
This mist is lifting slowly
I can see the way ahead
As he misstepped and almost lost a boot into the snow, he found agitation mounting along with worry. As he pulled the boot free and firmly shoved his foot back into it, he wondered why he had allowed Dowasure to fasten onto him in such a strange way. He had never done this before in his life, why had he been pulled into doing something that he had no experience in? It was against his nature to do something that he may fail at, because he had learned through experience that failing at things caused him pain...
He shook his head sharply, narrowing his eyes. Never mind that. It didn't matter what had happened to him before, it matter what he was doing now, and what mattered now was finding Dowasure.
And I've left behind the empty streets
That once inspired my life
"Dowasure?"
Prof. Denka could not find the young doctor and this began to worry him. Dowasure had a habit of choosing brightly colored clothing, thus making him easy to spot, and his own hair would betray him readily when surrounded by so much white. But there was no sign of him. His worry was increasing steadily, and he didn't know what he could do. He was beginning to feel a tinge of an emotion he knew a long time ago, a feeling of being useless when someone needed him...
"Dowasure!" He called out, louder this time. The worry he was trying to hide made its way into his voice and he stopped momentarily, startled at how much emotion he had let slip.
He heard a muffled cry coming from somewhere around him, and he turned in a circle so rapidly that he became disoriented.
"Dowasure!"
And the strength of the emotion
Is like thunder in the air
"Where are you? I can't see you!" He was far too worried to think of hiding it in his voice. He took a step forward, the snow crunching underneath his feet, as he looked back and forth rapidly. The snow made everything very indistinct and it was hard to see anything now that the snow was falling heavier. It seemed to gravitate towards his eyes, and he was forced to blink rapidly as his eyes were irritated. His small glasses even became clouded with the small flakes, and although this normally would have bothered him, his worry was pushing these thoughts from his mind. He was barely aware of brushing his hand over his eyes every few moments to be able to see, the only thoughts being of Dowasure and his safety, and his paranoid thoughts returned, stronger then before this time. That noise was his only clue.
He had to find him, he had to. Dowasure was his responsibilty, despite anything anyone said, and he had to find him.
Cause the promise that we made each other
Haunts me to the end
A repeat of the sound, a whimpering cry he knew well of Dowasure in pain, caused his heart to pang sharply.
"Dowasure? Dowasure, tell me where you are! Are you alright? Are you okay? Where are you?" The questions came so quickly and with such emotion Denka felt a tear fall from one eye. He immediately blamed it on a snowflake falling into it, causing the irritation, but the growing worry wouldn't cease.
"I keep getting hurt all the time..." Dowasure's phantasmal voice echoed through his head as he remembered one time when Dowasure had injured himself yet again. "But I'm so glad you're here to take care of me...you'll always be here, right?"
He found his own reply escaping him. "You don't have to worry, I promise I will."
"Dowasure!" He found himself holding his hands in worry. He didn't usually do that unless he was extremely distressed. He was surprised to find such a throwback to his childhood had come back to haunt him.
Another whimpering noise.
I know you're out there somewhere
Somewhere, Somewhere!
I know you're out there somewhere
Somewhere you can hear my voice!
I know I'll find you somehow!
Somehow, somehow!
I know I'll find you somehow
And somehow I'll return again to you
He stumbled through the thick snow, struggling to keep his balance as he tried to move toward where he heard the sound last. There was a brief flash of red near the edge of his vision where his scarf fluttered, almost removed by the wind. He rewrapped it distractedly as he finally saw a few strands of black moving in the distance.
"Dowasure!" His voice was relieved as he stumbled towards the smidgeon of color, which increased the more he moved towards it. The black became Dowasure's hair, although usually hidden by a hat was now blowing freely in the frigid wind. The bright colors of Dowasure's clothes were now visible as Prof. Denka fell to the ground, only to push himself upwards sharply.
"Dowasure, are you alright?"
Finally he was close enough to see the large brown eyes turn towards him. They blinked once.
"P...professor Denka...?" Dowasure's voice was small and almost taken away by the wind. Denka moved towards him, noting that Dowasure had been curled up against a tree, shivering. He uncurled himself and tried to stand when Prof. Denka came close, but he couldn't. He instead fell heavily, but Prof. Denka was there to catch him.
"I'm so glad...someone came to help me..."
"What happened? Are you alright?" He was kneeling on the snow, trying to keep Dowasure calm, although he was crying. "Did something hurt you? Did you get lost?"
He could feel the smaller doctor's gloved hands holding onto his back, as if frightened that he would become lost again. Denka lifted him out of the snow and made him sit upwards, looking at his eyes to try and make him return to coherency.
"What happened? Tell me what happened."
Dowasure sniffled painfully, his glasses askew. His eyes shone with gratititude and tears. "I...I was walking...and something attacked me...it hurt my leg..."
Instantly Prof. Denka turned to where Dowasure pointed, putting his hands on Dowasure's ankle. He couldn't tell with his gloves masking the sensitivity of his hands, but as far as he could tell he wasn't bleeding. He wasn't about to expose Dowasure's skin to the elements just to satisfy his curiousity.
"What did it look like? Did it pierce your skin? Did you feel it?"
Dowasure seemed to lose whatever composure he had gained, no doubt at the rapid and urgent sounding questions, and just began sobbing again, hiding his face in Denka's chest and shivering. Denka awkwardly put his arms around him, not sure of what to do. From what he could tell, Dowasure had been out here in the storm for far longer then he should have, and perhaps the cold had gotten to him.
"C'mon, let's go inside, okay? It's warm in there and we can find out what happened..."
Dowasure didn't move. "I can't...I can't walk..."
Denka nodded slowly. "It's okay, I'll take care of you, okay? Just try and relax. Don't panic."
"I don't want to panic anymore..."
Denka wasn't sure how to respond to that, as he didn't see why Dowasure had said such a thing, but he carefully removed Dowasure from his grasp, holding him up gently. Taking his hand in one of his own, he made Dowasure put an arm around his shoulders. Sliding his other arm underneath Dowasure's legs, Denka slowly stood upwards, carrying Dowasure with him easily. He was disturbingly light.
Being held like this seemed to trigger something in Dowasure. The long-haired man wrapped his arms around his neck and hung on tightly, his eyes closed, seemingly no longer even in this world. Denka stared at him curiously before moving out of the snow towards the door that would lead them out of the storm.
The secret of your beauty
And the mystery of your soul
I've been searching for in everyone I meet
"How long have you been out here? Do you remember?" Prof. Denka tried to keep the lecturing tone out of his voice and found for once that it was exceedingly easy. The concern that radiated from him seemed to catch Dowasure's attention, and he looked up, small snowflakes nearly covering his glasses completly from view. Even his eyelashes had small flecks on them, and his hair now seemed two-tone, with black and white in alternate shades. Dowasure seemed almost surprised, but the gratitude was easy to read in his eyes. He managed to smile softly at him, something that surprised Prof. Denka considering how upset he had been only what seemed like moments ago.
"I'm alright...I don't remember how long, but it was longer then you normally let me...I'm sorry..." He looked down.
Prof. Denka was in shock. He couldn't believe that, despite the fact that Dowasure was injured, that he was apologizing to him! This whole thing was his fault for not checking on him earlier. He knew the storm was coming, he should have kept him inside where he could have kept an eye on him.
"No, this is my fault, I should have found you or looked for you sooner, I should be sorry, not you..."
Prof. Denka blinked in surprise as a mittened hand gently touched his face. He looked down at Dowasure, who almost seemed to look sleepy. Before he could ask a question, Dowasure cut him off, his soft voice holding no hatred or malice of any kind. Not that Prof. Denka had ever heard him speak with anger...
"What you did doesn't matter...what matters is what you're doing now...thank you."
Prof. Denka could not think of anyone else who would have said such a thing.
And the times I've been mistaken
It's impossible to say
And the grass is growing underneath our feet
They were near the door now. Prof. Denka found that the exhaustion that was coming over him was not from the weight of Dr. Dowasure, but rather from walking around in the snow for so long. Despite his best efforts not to, he was beginning to feel the chill, but he was sure that Dowasure was worse of then he was. He refused to show any signs of discomfort until Dowasure was safe.
Dowasure seemed to pull himself closer to him, and despite his best efforts Prof. Denka could feel a slight heat near his cheeks. Was he...blushing? He hadn't blushed since...so long ago...
He shook his head slightly, trying to clear his mind. He had put that behind him, and he would never make that mistake again. Dowasure was close to him now because he was cold, hurt, and frightened, and there was nothing else to it. He refused to repeat mistakes he had made before...
But then again, he had never known someone like Dowasure before...someone who seemed to need him so badly, or to be so dependent on him...
He shook his head again. He wasn't going to make that mistake again. He was never going to do that again. It had caused him too much pain, and he was sick of pain in his life, particularly pain he brought on himself because he believed something that in truth was incorrect.
Dowasure mumbled something, but he couldn't hear him due to the wind. Finally he reached the door and was faced with a problem. He looked at Dowasure, whose eyes seemed half-open, and shook him slightly.
"I need you to hold on to my neck tightly now, I need to use my hand. You can do that, right?"
Dowasure didn't say anything, only tightening his grip on Prof. Denka's neck. Prof. Denka used this opportunity to swiftly reach for the doorknob and pull it open quickly. As it swung open, he slid in front of it so that he could enter, and replaced his hand underneath Dowasure's shoulderblades. He felt Dowasure ease into his grip again, and finally he could hear what he was saying.
"You're kicking up grass..."
Prof. Denka was confused, but as he turned to shut the door, he found that the ground near the door had been scuffled in his attempt to get in, and there was a slight glimpse of green before it was hidden by the falling flakes. Not sure of what to make of the peculiar incident, he let the door close behind him and began walking.
The rhythmic sound of his footsteps against the floor, and the ceasing of the wind and the snowflakes seemed to revive Dowasure, and he blushed slightly. Confused, Prof. Denka looked at him, but he looked away.
"What's wrong?"
"Sorry..." He mumbled. "I'm sorry for making you do this...it must be so awkward for you..."
You see, I know you're out there somewhere...
Oh yes, I know you're out there somewhere...
You see, I know I'll find you somehow...
Oh yes, I know I'll find you somehow...
"Oh, nonsense." Prof. Denka tried to return to his previous gruff manner, hoping to hide the rising heat to his face. Dr. Dowasure stared at him, apparently surprised at the sudden change in tone. "It's no trouble at all, really. After all, I promised you that I'd take care of you, and that's what I'm going to do."
Dr. Dowasure stared at him for a little longer, then looked down.
"Tell me, do you remember exactly what happened? What hurt you or attacked you?" Prof. Denka made his way through the halls without a second glance, years of walking from place to place having ingrained the complex's map in his memory. Dr. Dowasure did not look at him.
"I'm...not sure exactly. I was just sitting and watching the sky and then...my foot began to hurt, and when I looked down, I saw something run away. I tried to find my way back but I..." There was a definite hesitation at his next word, and he closed his eyes. "...forgot my way back...the snow was really thick and I couldn't see, and I couldn't walk very far, so...I found a tree and decided to stay there until..."
"Hold on, I'm going to open another door." He felt him tighten his grip around his neck obediantly. Prof. Denka tried to meet his gaze, but Dr. Dowasure would not look at him. His face was gradually becoming more and more red, although Prof. Denka blamed this on the change in temperature. "Until what?"
A clean metallic room with a table. With great care, Prof. Denka set Dr. Dowasure down so as not to irritate his foot. Finally, the shy man met his gaze.
"Well...until you came to get me."
Prof. Denka stared at him for a few minutes before he broke away the contact, trying not to let his feelings get the better of him. There was nothing here, nothing that he should risk believing. He pulled off his hat and unwound his scarf. "You knew I'd come get you, then."
"Oh yes..." He glanced back and Dr. Dowasure was toying with his fingers. "You always do, after all. I can trust you."
He shed his coat and coughed a little. "Well yes, I suppose you can..." He shouldn't feel this embarassed. "I'll always come and find you."
"That's right." Dr. Dowasure smiled at him brightly, and at the sight of such enthusiasm and sincerity, Prof. Denka could not resist a smile back. "You'll always watch out for me."
"Yes, now let's get these wet clothes off so I can get a look at your foot, alright?" Prof. Denka attempted to say in a business-like manner. Dr. Dowasure blinked at him the nodded, pulling off his mittens with strange slowness. Still concerned over what could have happened, Prof. Denka sighed slightly and took hold of his hands, removing his mittens in an instant. "I'm sure it isn't serious, but I want to make sure anyway."
Dr. Dowasure blushed and nodded, although Prof. Denka did not want to think of why. He pulled off Dr. Dowasure's coat, revealing his typical purple shirt beneath, along with his thin arms. He was rather pale, and again Prof. Denka worried about just how long he spent outside. Dr. Dowasure sat quietly, much like a child, until Prof. Denka pulled off the shoes that protected the wounded foot. He squeaked in slight pain, causing Prof. Denka to glance back up at him, but didn't say anything further.
The words that I remember
From my childhood still are true
That there's none so blind as those who will not see
"Now let's see...this may hurt a little bit, but don't worry, alright? I'm sure you'll be fine." From what he could tell, it looked as if Dr. Dowasure had merely sprained his ankle. He did not want to believe that Dr. Dowasure had lied to him, so he guessed that he had mistaken a tree root or something for the animal that had attacked him. It wouldn't surprise him, if Dr. Dowasure had panicked, which was likely, he probably got caught in the root and twisted his foot while trying to get away from an imagined threat.
"Prof. Denka..."
"Yes?" He responded unconsciously.
"You know, I was just thinking..." The smaller man winced as Prof. Denka examined his foot. "I was just thinking about how you always come rescue me, you know?"
"Well, rescue is a strong word..." Prof. Denka did not want to think about where this conversation was going. He could never...well, he was sure that Dr. Dowasure did not feel that way, and therefore there was no reason he would say such a thing. Even if Prof. Denka did feel this kind of affection and concern, he would not allow that to interfere with their relationship. It would not be fair to Dowasure. He wouldn't let himself be fooled again, not after all this time.
"You're so much nicer to me then everyone else here." Dr. Dowasure sounded happy, but he looked rather shy. This must have been taking him some courage to say.
"Considering our company here, that's not saying much..." Yes, it definitely looked like a sprain. That wasn't too serious.
"Well...I'm not good...with saying things correctly, or remembering everything, but I just want to say thank you again." Dr. Dowasure nibbled on one of his fingers, no doubt missing the long sleeves of all his customary outfits. "Um...Prof. Denka..."
"Yes?" He straightened and walked to one side, rummaging through drawers for a supportive bandage. Dowasure was going to have to stay off his foot for a little while, avoid strenuous activity...
"Do you um...do you like me? I mean, like...um..." Dr. Dowasure couldn't formulate any concept past that and just trailed off, staring down at his foot.
Prof. Denka knocked over a few bottles and scrambled for a few seconds to upright them. Once they were under control, he coughed slightly, trying to keep himself from blushing.
"Well, ahem, of course I do. I mean, I wouldn't be this concerned for you if I wasn't you know. I wouldn't spend all this time watching you and making sure you don't get hurt if I didn't care about you and all..."
"That's good." Dr. Dowasure smiled at him weakly as he walked back over to him, bandage in hand. "I just wanted to know, because I love you and all. I wanted to make sure you loved me too."
Prof. Denka hit his head on the underside of the table.
"What?" He tried to keep his voice under control. Dr. Dowasure blinked at him.
"What? You said you really cared about me, and I really care about you too."
"Yes but, but that...that's something..."
And to those who lack the courage
And say it's dangerous to try
Well, they just don't know that
Love eternal will not be denied
"You don't love me?" Dr. Dowasure's face fell and he held a hand over one eye. "Oh, oh no, oh no no no, I shouldn't have said that, oh no...I just thought, I thought since you cared so much about me and you risked all this, risked yourself all the time that...oh no no, oh no. Oh...I thought...I think I thought..."
"Well it's..." Prof. Denka sat down on the floor hard, bandage in one hand. "It's just that...I don't...um, well, love is something that's...very complicated and I don't...I don't want to um...well, if I..."
He depended on him so much for so little, and he had loved him for it. Oh god. He did.
"It's just...if I do, well...I guess you could say that I do love you, Dr. Dowasure, because I care about you, but I'm afraid you don't really understand what that means..."
"What do you mean I don't understand?" Dr. Dowasure looked almost offended. That was an expression that Prof. Denka hadn't seen before. "Of course I understand love! I'm not...I'm not that forgetful, you know. I can't forget something that important."
Prof. Denka looked down at his foot and realized that something else still required his attention. He began wrapping the bandage tightly as he tried to calm down.
"I wasn't saying that you forgot, it's just..."
"What are you afraid of?" Dr. Dowasure asked, and Prof. Denka looked up at him, surprised.
"Well, nothing. Nothing I'm just...afraid you'll get hurt." He looked down as he fastened the bandage down. He may as well be honest. "I'm afraid you'll get hurt because...I'm not particularly good at this kind of thing. I'm afraid you don't know what you've gotten into."
"Sure I do." Dr. Dowasure stared at him as if he didn't understand why Prof. Denka would have problems with this at all. "I know you're a good man. I know you'll take care of me and I know that you love me, and I think that ever since you began taking care of me, I think you've loved me, cause no one has ever put up with me this long without loving me. No one is ever...this nice to me if they don't love me."
The wind howled outside and there was a shudder through the ground. Prof. Denka noticed this with some concern.
Yes I know it's going to happen (going to happen)
I can feel it getting near
We seem to be returning to the fountain of our youth
"I hope this storm doesn't get any worse..." Prof. Denka mumbled as he stood and, after a few moments, he sat down beside Dr. Dowasure.
"Dr. Dowasure, it's not your...well, it's..."
"What about you, Prof. Denka? I mean, in terms of people loving you. I...I really...need you I guess, so...did they need you?" Dr. Dowasure blushed and looked at his wet coat on the floor. Prof. Denka could tell he wanted to put it on again, if just to hide his hands.
"To tell you the truth, Dowasure..." Prof. Denka stared at him sidelong for a few seconds. "I can't think of many people that have loved me either. Even back as a child, I was not..." He didn't like that topic. "I'm just not a lovable person, at least...by apparently most people's standards."
"Well, I love you." Dr. Dowasure stared at him seriously. "I really need you, you know. I can't even think of what this would be like if you weren't here...I mean, think about um...what just happened with um...my...my, um..."
"Foot."
"That's right, my foot. I mean, think about what would've happened if no one came out to look for me...I don't want to think about being here without you, and when you're nice to me, I want to be with you forever."
It was hard to find words. Instead, he rested an arm across Dowasure's shoulders with a sigh.
"I never thought this would happen to me..."
"What?"
"I...well, considering how I..." Another uncomfortable subject. "Most people don't want to be with me at all. I never thought...someone would ever really need me. Much like you do. It had never crossed my mind."
"You don't like being alone either, do you?"
All those nights on the sofa with static in the dark...
"Of course I don't."
"Well, then, we'll never be alone again this way." Dr. Dowasure closed his eyes and leaned against his side. Prof. Denka let the blush rise fully to his face. "I trust you, you know." For a moment, a shudder overtook Dr. Dowasure's body. Prof. Denka automatically responded by tightening his grip on his shoulder, and he relaxed. "It's hard for me to trust people, but I trust you."
"It's been a long time since I've been trusted." Prof. Denka smiled for a few seconds.
There was a sudden earsplitting crack that made Dr. Dowasure yelp and clutch him tightly.
And if you wake up wondering (if you wake up wondering)
In the darkness I'll be there (You know I'll be there)
My arms will close around you and protect you with the truth
With that, the power went out completely.
"What's going on?" Dr. Dowasure whimpered after the crackling had subsided. After a few moments, Prof. Denka adjusted his glasses despite the lack of light and sighed.
"No worries. I thought this would happen. It appears that the storm has knocked out one of our power cables, but there's no need to fear. We have a backup generator that connects to all the specimen labs, so I'm sure they're all fine. The power'll be fixed in a little while."
In actuality, he had no idea when full power would be restored, as all backup power had to be diverted to the numerous cryogenic and lifesupport systems in the facility. In the dark, Dr. Dowasure shivered close to him.
"Are you sure?" He sounded terrified. "I hate the dark, I don't like this. It reminds me of when...when um...that one...that one thing happened, and everything in that one area..."
"Yes, I remember." That specimen had NOT been happy when it had escaped. Thankfully it was taken down and killed before anyone was injured, although the power had suffered for it. "It's not pleasant to be in the dark, I agree."
Dr. Dowasure curled up into his side further, and Prof. Denka felt himself blush accordingly.
"Nothing can get me, right?" His words were muffled.
With a sigh and a slight smile, Prof. Denka turned and allowed Dr. Dowasure to bury his face in his chest. He settled his arms around him and felt him shivering.
"Nothing'll hurt you as long as I'm here, okay? There's nothing to be afraid of."
"That's good..." The shivering decreased in frequency and it seemed that Dr. Dowasure was calming down. "I believe you..."
"That's cause I'm telling the truth." Prof. Denka stroked his hair. "Right now, there's nothing that I want more then you to be safe."
I never thought anyone would love me. Or even...could love me. I never thought...all this time, all those insults and comments and all those nights I spent alone, I never thought...I never ever thought that someone...
You never thought that someone...
I know you're out there somewhere
Somewhere, Somewhere!
I know you're out there somewhere
Somewhere you can hear my voice!
"I love you too, Dowasure."
There was a pause, and Dr. Dowasure nuzzled into his chest.
"I know."
I know I'll find you somehow!
Somehow, somehow!
I know I'll find you somehow
And somehow I'll return again to you
All this time, he never thought, and yet...
Somehow, he had gotten a second chance. He wasn't going to let this slip by him again.
He was not going to let Dr. Dowasure slip away.
It had been so long.
He had almost forgotten how good it felt to be loved.
The End
(Author's Note: This is like, feel-good fic of da year. Baha. I feel all fuzzy. Friggin internet connection is all down. It's been what...two or three years since I started this, and I still really like da writing in it. Weird!
They are an awfully cute couple and their relationship is really supportive. No angst or weird dysfunction here! So cute. DENKA NEEDS LOVE.
Man this song is so eighties.)
