Stacey decided she couldn't just cower in fear. She held out her hand. "You know my name. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Mmph..." Kagakusha stared at her hand as if it had a razorblade imbedded in the palm. She looked at her doll for a few moments, then she reluctantly took her hand. Stacey had to shake as Kagakusha apparently didn't know how to proceed after clasping.
"So, is this a nice place? I just got here and I don't know anything." Stacey watched Kagakusha as she sat back down at her computer, the doll sitting comfortably in her lap. "Can you show me around?"
"No." Her answer was quick and concise.
Stacey tried to tell herself that Kagakusha must have felt threatened by her because she was new, but would eventually warm up to her.
"Why not?" She didn't see any harm in asking.
"Because we wouldn't get anywhere." Kagakusha sounded increasingly annoyed as she saw her empty mailbox. "Why don't you ever e-mail me, Kax?" Her last question was directed towards the doll.
Stacey tried to ignore this. "What do you mean?"
Kagakusha didn't look at her as she spoke. "Everyone here hates and/or fears me. I don't think I could really take you anywhere of interest. Go ask someone else."
"Oh..." Stacey wasn't sure whether or not to inquire, but then decided she might as well. "Why do they hate you?"
"Hate and/or fear me." Kagakusha corrected. Her voice didn't change tone. "I stabbed someone's hand with a needle and pinned him to a tree. I've also driven two of my other roommates away, one by choice and the other by expulsion."
"..." Stacey wasn't sure how to respond, but she finally found a word. "Why?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Are you sure?" Stacey was not aware of her short temper and didn't know she was treading on dangerous ground. "I mean, if we're going to be roommates, we might as well know a little bit about eachother."
Kagakusha didn't respond.
Not sure of what else to do, she pointed to the doll. "Who's that? Is that Kax?"
Kagakusha tensed visibly for a few moments, clenched her hands, held her head, then turned to look at Stacey, her eyes burning. "No. No this isn't her. Kax just speaks to me through it. It's only a doll."
"Who's Kax?" Stacey was beginning to worry. It was one thing to talk to your dolls, but to have them channel other people..."Some kind of demon?"
Kagakusha narrowed her eyes and then stood, shutting off the computer with a flick of her wrist. She then climbed to the upper bunk, through her blankets over her head, then finally responded.
"I don't know why I even try to talk to people like you. You're all a waste of my time."
Stacey stood and looked over the edge of the bed, but she couldn't see her. "It's not a waste of time to make new friends, Kaggie."
As was custom with Kagakusha's insane furies, she became frighteningly fast. Stacey gave a surprised gasp as Kagakusha's hand closed around her throat. Within moments Kagakusha was only inches away from her face, holding a sharp pencil in one of her hands.
"Listen to me, little girl." Her voice was a low hiss. "I don't want you here and you don't want me. If I had my way I'd jab this pencil through your eye right now."
She jerked the pencil at the word 'jab', causing Stacey to whimper in fright. "Don't hurt me, I was just asking..."
Kagakusha continued as if she had never stopped. "If we have to stay together, know this. Don't make any cute nickname out of my name. It's older then you are and older then probably your entire family. People like you can't do that to me."
Stacey was beginning to fear for her life. The insane look on the woman's face was beginning to make her believe that she truly was capable of doing what she claimed she wanted.
Kagakusha paused, looking at the doll sitting next to her occasionally. With a disgusted noise she dropped Stacey on the floor, throwing the pencil with furious force against the wall, shattering it into fragments.
"Stay away from me and don't talk to me." She turned over and pulled the covers over her head again.
Stacey crawled into her own bed, shivering with fright. She was roommates with a crazy woman...
Why didn't they tell her about this?
When she woke up the next morning, Kagakusha was staring intently at her computer screen, deep lines underneath her eyes. She didn't recall her getting up...perhaps she had awoken in the middle of the night? How long had she been awake?
Kagakusha looked over at her, made an indecipherable noise, then turned back to the computer. Frightened, Stacey gingerly sat up, brushing her hair back, unsure of what to do.
Kagakusha stared at the doll in her lap, made a severely annoyed noise, then clicked the mouse several times.
When she spoke, it was so short, clipped, and hostile that Stacey wasn't sure she had spoken at all. "Kax isn't a demon."
Stacey sat silently, afraid to ask questions. Apparently sensing that she would have to continue herself, Kagakusha sighed angrily. "She was my friend. She left. That answers your question, doesn't it?"
Stacey nodded.
"Well, go find yourself someone to show you around." Kagakusha continued clicking and typing, although what she was doing was beyond her. Stacey stood and inched away from her, heading for where she had dropped her clothes. She took them with her as she left, planning to change in the bathroom, not wanting to spend any more time in the room with the crazy woman then she had to.
There was a small click as the door slid shut.
The moment she heard that click, Kagakusha stopped moving. She turned in her chair, waited until she heard the footsteps of her roommate disappearing down the hall, then she could feel a familiar heat and moisture rising in her eyes. Rubbing at them furiously, she stood, knocking the doll unconsciously to the floor as she did so.
Why did she have to do this? Why was she put through this? Hadn't they learned that she didn't want to talk to other people? She didn't want to have to deal with their stupidity, how their perfect lives and perfect friends made her feel so inadequate.
She hated her...she hated her because she was happy and must have had a reason to be so. What reason did she have? Nothing!
In a jealous rage, Kagakusha tore across the room, ripping, smashing, and generally destroying anything she could get her hands on, regardless of whether it belonged to her or not. She was holding her doll in one hand and was about to rip it apart when a stray shard from the lamp she had just thrown against the wall cut her cheek.
She stopped, surprised by the sudden sting that quickly faded. Knowing better then to touch, having already guessed by the warmth running down her face that she was bleeding, she stared down at the doll, which made her hands feel so warm.
She sat down hard, watching as a blood droplet hit her clothes with a heavy, audible noise.
"You stopped me...before I did something stupid. Thank you, Kax..." She looked at the doll, wanting to hug it to her chest but fearful of getting some stray blood on it. She instead tried to bury her feelings in her hands, trying to expand the heat from her hands to the rest of her body. It didn't work.
"Kei, calm down. When you're angry, you don't think straight." Kax's voice came to her. "Try and be nice to her, okay? This isn't healthy for you."
Kagakusha nodded, finally deciding to reach up and touch the cut. She stared at her reddened fingers curiously, then sighed and buried her hands in her hair.
When Stacey entered, she found the entire room, excepting the computer, had been almost entirely destroyed. Sitting in the middle of the room, with her head in her hands, was Kagakusha, staring at the doll sitting in her lap. Sensing that she had entered, she raised her head. From where she had let her fingertips touch her face while they were traveling up to her hair, there were streaks. Streaks that ran from the corners of her eyes into her hair. It made her look demonic.
It also made her look insane.
Stacey was overcome with fear, but it was soon replaced by anger. How dare she touch her stuff! Perhaps if she had ruined her own things, it wouldn't have mattered as much as it did, but she had destroyed her things without asking! Without even thinking of her no doubt!
"How dare you!"
Kagakusha continued to stare at her, letting her fingers slide from her hair down her face, leaving more streaks down near her eyes and the outline of her face. Her eyes glowed strangely when she replied. "What?"
"How dare you just destroy the room like this!" Stacey tried to keep herself rational, but found herself furious. "You aren't just living her by yourself you know! There's another person in here whether you like it or not!"
Kagakusha stood.
Stacey involuntarily took a step back, but tried to keep her anger overriding her fear. "You have to learn that everything isn't about you!"
Kagakusha looked at the doll in her hands, made some angry noises, then put it down in her chair. She buried her face in her hands for a few moments, then looked up again. Instead of tears underneath her eyes, there were more thin streaks. She looked like some kind of primevial beast.
"Everything isn't about me." Kagakusha's voice was tight and controlled. "I know that. If it was, things would be different for one thing. But I don't take kindly to children pretending they know about me or little girls thinking they can control me."
"I'm not a little girl!" Stacey shouted. "I'm the same age as you!"
"Perhaps in body. In all other aspects...I think not." Kagakusha turned around. "Pick up the remains of your belongings. I think you can get most of them repaired."
Stacey was beyond shocked and beyond appalled. Without even thinking, she picked up the first thing she found on the ground, a thick pillow, and flung it at her roommates back.
Kagakusha, despite her act, was frail. She fell easily, but scrambled to her feet with unnatural speed. Seizing the pillow, she tore at it with her bare hands, then flung the fragments at Stacey. She then bared her nails and her teeth as if she would rip Stacey apart tendon by single tendon, giving almost a snarl of rage.
Stacey regretted instantly what she had done, and with the streaks on her face, she was sure that Kagakusha WAS going to kill her...with that kind of appearance, there was no doubt in her mind.
Kagakusha shot several glances at the doll, her rage seeming to burn higher and higher with each change of her stare. She finally picked up the doll and threw it on the upper bunk. She then turned back to her victim.
Stacey stepped back, this time her bravery, or stupidity, gone completely.
Then, she stopped.
Stacey stared in wonder as Kagakusha straightened as if struck by lightning. With a flash she was sitting in her computer chair as if nothing had happened, ignoring everything but the flickering screen.
Stacey took this opportunity to leave the room.
Kagakusha's eyes were riveted to the screen. A new e-mail.
From Kaxxhip@trainer.com.
She clicked it open so quickly it minimized itself. She tried to restrain her anger at this slight pause before she managed to read her latest letter.
"Sorry you're lonely, buddy. I was hoping you'd make some new friends, but then again, that wouldn't be the Kei I remember, would it?"
Kagakusha felt her heart lighten and her anger dissolve at her friends words. She felt a great rest come over her.
"This stupid guy is still following me around. What a dork. Thinks he's the best thing since sliced cheese. His Pokémon suck too.
I sent you somethin I got while I was in one of the cities. It should be there by now, but maybe the postage is wrong or somethin. I dunno. Hope you like it.
Lovelove,
Your friend
Kax"
Kagakusha felt her heart being beating so fast that she thought it would burst. Kax had sent her something...? It would be the first thing that Kagakusha had recieved in the mail since she had gone to college. With unearthly speed she dashed out of the room, leaving the computer blinking repeatedly behind her.
She rushed into the main office in a flash of red-brown and grey. She slammed her hands down on the counter and glared at the woman seated across it, already hating her for not knowing what it was that Kagakusha wanted.
"Do I have a package?" Her voice was quick and sharp.
The woman had heard of Kagakusha and decided that responding with sarcasm would be unwise. Besides, it looked as if Kagakusha was under quite a bit of stress....she had some kind of red markings on her face, but she didn't know what they were. She assumed that Kagakusha had been painting and had painted on her face as some kind of release. She didn't understand her actions, so such a strange behavior could be feasible when coming from Kagakusha.
The woman behind the counter pulled a small box out from underneath the counter and handed it to her, watching with amazement as she snatched the box like it was her last gasp of life. "Yes, it came yesterday-"
Before she could finish her sentence, Kagakusha was gone.
She raced back to her room and found Stacey inside, trying to pick up her ruined posessions. Exhilaration and excitement was pulling her chest tight and she could not control herself.
"GET OUT OF HERE NOW!"
Stacey blinked and stared at Kagakusha, who looked even more insane with the bizarre expression on her face that she now had. She tried to bring back the bravery/stupidity that had allowed her to stand up to her room-mate before, but it was gone. She stood and edged out of the room, leaving Kagakusha wildly twitching behind her.
As soon as her room-mate had left, Kagakusha slammed the door behind her and locked it. She sat directly in the wreckage of hers and Stacey's posessions, ignoring the sharp pieces on the floor that dug into her legs as she stared reverently at the package.
It was addressed to her. Kei Kagakusha. And it had a picture that Kax had drawn of herself on it. And it was from Kax. Kax...
She opened it carefully, forcing her trembling and twitching fingers to be slow, pulling off the tape and opening the lid.
Something within the box glittered in her eyes. Reaching in slowly, she felt something cold and smooth. Gripping it, she pulled it out, staring at her prize.
It was a long chain, smooth and grey, with a small ornament at the end. She stared at it. It was circular quartz in shape, but within it it had a small imprint of a cat in some other kind of rock, clear with glittering black eyes.
"Kax..."
She could hardly speak. This was something physical. Not just words on a screen, not just letters, this was something that Kax had given her, a true sign that Kax had remained in her life and had not left her alone. Had not forgotten her on the road. Kax had remembered her and Kax wanted to be with her and had given her this, a sign of their friendship. Kagakusha loved cats.
She gently lifted the chain and pulled it over her head, feeling the metal slide against he neck, cool and smooth. As the pendant touched her chest, she felt warmth spread from it, much like from her doll. She felt a great ease and peace spread over her body. She felt at peace. She felt...happy...
She stared at her doll, feeling tears coming to her eyes again, tears of relief and freedom. She felt as if the pressure that had been building on her this entire time had been released. She hugged the Kax doll to her chest, letting the warmth spread over her body, tears falling from her eyes without reason. She coughed weakly and laughed as she thought of her friend, who had not forgotten her.
Stacey huddled outside of the hallway, absolutly miserable. She had brought everything she cared about to college, and her room-mate had destroyed it all! Never mind she was insane, she had destroyed what she cared about...
She stared upwards as she noted some people walking by.
"Did you hear...? There's a party on saturday at Janice's dorm!"
"Janice? Isn't her dorm like, extremely huge or something?"
"Yeah, she's a dean's daughter so she gets the good stuff. Anyway, she's havin a big ol' party there this weekend."
"Can anyone come?" Stacey ventured to ask. She had never been frightened of talking to people. She had always believed that people would always be willing to talk, but only had to be prompted into doing so before they would actually open up to her. The two turned to her and smiled.
"Sure! Open party, man. It's to celebrate the end of the first semester. Yo, you look kind of sad..."
"What happened?"
Before she could speak, the female of the pair pointed at the door, which had a large sharp K scrawled on it, embellished with blood, and underneath it the words "GO AWAY" in a large, frightening font. "She got the Kags for a roommate, bro."
Her brother, who apparently was the other one, winced. "Ouch, man. That's got to hurt. Did you hear what she did to Brad, yet?"
Stacey shook her head. The two gripped her hands and pulled her upwards, speaking with her easily as if she had always known them. She was right again, they only needed to be approached to begin speaking with her.
"God, Kags is a complete psycho. She carries this doll around with her-"
"I've seen it. She talks to it."
"Yeah, I know! Freaky weird stuff, man. Anyway, he started talking to her, minding his own business, you know? Just asking her how she was and stuff. Out of NOwhere, she just grabbed his hand and impaled it, impaled it with a #$^$ NEEDLE man, that's some wacked-up #$^$ there."
"IMPALED it?" Stacey blinked.
"Yeah, he had to have it operated on, 'cause it was damaged so bad. Hey, we could show you the tree where it happened!"
"She threatened to stab me with a pencil!" Stacey felt oblidged to mention her own horror stories. The two nodded.
"Good thing you got away from her, man. She'll kill you if you mess with her."
Stacey and her two new friends headed down the hallway, gossiping and looking hurt as Stacey related what had happened to her possessions, while they traded stories about the psychotic lady who, for some reason, was never removed from the college.
Kagakusha was sitting happily on her bed, stroking her medallion and feeling greatly at ease, when she happened to look out the window. Smiling, she stared at those outside.
"There's that idiot of a room-mate of mine...and those two fools who live across the way. Hmm..." She narrowed her eyes slightly, then smirked to herself. "They're showing her the tree where I taught that fool a lesson. Ha. Maybe that'll get her to respect my privacy more."
She sat down at her computer, thinking to herself. How best could she remove Stacey? She had to find a different way to be rid of her then before, because obviously weirding her out or playing pranks on her would not be effective enough. She had to destroy Stacey some other way.
She turned back to the computer and began typing.
"Kax,
Thank you for the necklace. It makes me feel warm and safe. Thank you for not forgetting me. It must be annoying to have someone follow you around all the time."
She glanced out the window.
"I know how that feels. I've got a particularly bad room-mate again, this one is a bubble-brain through and through. She thought you were a demon, can you imagine?
I'm sure she's plotting with those two idiots across the way to try and have her revenge. They're fools for thinking it, they can't hurt me. I'm too strong for their insults and pranks.
Thank you again. I would send you something, but you're so nomadic I don't know where to send it. I'll make it up to you, I promise.
-Kei"
She felt at ease as she pushed the send button and sighed as she watched the window pop up that stated that her mail had been sent. She went to her bed and closed her eyes, the last thing in her vision being the doll and the cat, it's eyes glittering at her.
When she woke, it was dark and she found Stacey trying on some of the clothes that hadn't been destroyed. She noted that Kagakusha had woke up, but no longer had any fear in her eyes. Confused, Kagakusha sat up and hopped from her upper bed onto the floor, staring at Stacey oddly.
"You still have blood on your face, you should wash it off."
Kagakusha blinked at her, wondering what had come over the girl. Stacey turned to her, her ponytail whirling as she held up two dresses.
"What do you think, this one or this one? Actually, I was thinking of this grey one. I got it out of your closet."
Kagakusha blinked again.
"You don't wear dresses, so I can't imagine how it got in there. I think grey sets off my eyes, nicely, don't you? I'm going to borrow it, I won't hurt it, don't worry. Go ahead and wash your face off, you look like you're insane or something." Stacey grabbed the hanger that held the grey dress, which was Kagakusha's graduation dress, and ran out of the room.
Kagakusha watched her go, still confused. Although normally she would have been upset, she just felt slight confused. She wasn't scared of her anymore? What had happened? No one had ever not been frightened of her...
She stared at her pendant, which made her chest so warm and made her feel safe and happy. She credited it to the fact she had not been angry at Stacey and headed out into the hallway.
"Look out, it's the crazy woman!"
"Crazy ol Kaggie!"
"Watch out, she'll kill you!"
"What's that on your face, blood?"
"Killed anyone recently?"
"Still playing with dolls?"
"How are the voices in your head today, Kags?"
"They tell you to burn anything?"
Kagakusha was used to the jeers and insults and no longer found them annoying. All she had to do to stop them was turn and glare, and those who insulted her from the safety of their rooms would slam the doors in fright. She was still stronger then them and she still frightened them, although they tried to hide behind insults. She walked into the bathroom, ignored the others that were inside, and washed her face. It took some time, considering that blood was considerably more stubborn then she had ever expected, and she was left with slight orange marks over her face, almost like rouge that had been applied to quickly by someone who did not know what makeup was. She walked out without a word, leaving those behind her to gossip to their friends about her.
She was the constant object of gossip. It didn't matter if someone had cheated on their boyfriend or someone had failed a test. All that mattered was what the crazy woman was going to do, where she was, what she had done. She was the object of stares and insults, the center of negative attention. She wasn't bothered by it, because it was easy for her to tune it out or stop it, if she so wanted.
She walked back into her room, finding Stacey standing in her graduation dress.
"How do I look? Wait, you probably wouldn't know attractive if it bit you on the nose." Stacey giggled in a school-girlish way. "You don't seem to care much for physical appearance."
Kagakusha considered killing her, but instead, due to the influence of the necklace, decided to revert to emotionlessness. "You're right, I don't care for your appearance at all."
"That's not what I meant!" Stacey giggled and waved a hand at her. "I mean you don't care much about your own appearance."
Kagakusha smiled sardonically. As long as she was known as being homicidally insane, she might as well play the part. "I don't know, I think blood is a nice touch. I think yours might look nice, don't you think?"
Stacey coughed nervously and tried to act as if she hadn't heard. "I don't suppose you're going to the party, are you?"
"Party...?" Kagakusha should have known. No wonder Stacey had come and rummaged through her clothes.
"Yeah, the party at Janice's house. The Phi Beta Delta house. You know what I'm talking about?"
Kagakusha did, but showed no sign of knowing so.
"Anyway, almost everyone is going to be there. Except you, right? I don't think you'd care for it, they don't serve blood there." She laughed in a odd, high-pitched way that grated on Kagakusha's ears.
The necklace was keeping her sane and from ripping her head off. Kagakusha smiled again. "I hate social gatherings. Why would I go? You are correct again. That must be a record."
"Well, I'm taking this dress and going. I won't be back until later this night, okay?"
"That's my graduation dress. I just thought I'd mention that."
She stared down at the grey dress and shrugged. "Then it's only been worn once! Good as new. Goodbye, you nut!"
She dashed out the door before Kagakusha could respond.
"It's amazing that they allow five-year old children into colleges of this caliber." She sat down at her computer again, putting the doll on her lap. There was an interesting debate going on at one of the boards she liked to frequent about genetics, and she was on the side that advocated the mixture of human and Pokémon genes. She was about to sign on and begin, when the voice of Kax stopped her.
"You should go, Kei."
"What?" She stared down at the doll. It remained motionless, as it always did, and she set it on the keyboard so she could stare at her easier.
"Go to the party. You could use it. It might be fun."
"Why should I go to the party? There's just going to be other people there and music that plays too loudly."
"Snacks too, don't forget."
She smiled. "I don't really want to go. I'm insane, remember? They don't want crazy people at their parties."
"You're not insane, Kei, really. They just don't understand how you work, so they call you insane just to make it quick so they can move on. You're not insane."
Kagakusha nodded. As usual, Kax made far too much sense. "I still don't feel comfortable in going. Besides, the bubble-head took my only dress."
"Don't wear a dress. Go as you are now. I mean, why dress up? It's like you want a boyfriend or something."
Kagakusha laughed openly. The concept of boyfriends and love seemed ridiculous to her. Imagine having to sacrifice some of her precious time just to please someone else. It made no sense at all to her, and she would rather have all her time to herself. Besides, she wasn't comfortable with the idea of someone else kissing her anyway. She felt slightly awkward because she didn't know how to kiss someone. She never had.
"Okay, fine, I'll go. But just because you told me to."
"Better leave me home, something might happen to me. Keep the necklace though, I don't want you freezing to death, okay?"
"Okay." She smiled at her doll.
Soon she found herself at the site of the party, dressed in a grey t-shirt and her normal long, grey pants. She didn't dress in black or white because she found those to be the colors that were easily notable and the colors that told far too much about someone. Grey was safe and easy to blend in with. She tied her hair up in her scarf, tucked her necklace underneath her shirt, and walked to the party with her normal sneakers, the laces left untied.
When she entered the room where the majority of the party was taking place, there was a hush over the crowd. Everyone stopped talking to stare at her. Disregarding them, she walked forward towards the refreshments, picking up a glass of punch and devouring a few chips with some dip. Coughing, she then changed from salsa dip to ranch dressing.
Stacey was the one who was voted to go forward, since she WAS her room-mate.
"What are you doing here?" She hissed angrily at the other woman, who regarded her with a strange smile. She was bothering her already. That was how she could destroy Stacey. Embarass her in front of her peers. "I thought you said you wouldn't come!"
"As far as I'm aware, anyone is welcome here. You're here, aren't you?"
"Sorry, Kags, but only SANE people are allowed here!" Someone helpfully shouted from the crowd. Kagakusha waved cheerfully to him.
"Oh, thank you so much, remind me to kill you in the morning." She laughed in a strange way and watched as everyone backed away from her. She smiled again, this time with an evil twist. "I'm sorry, but I walked all the way here and I'm not about to leave. And you can't make me, unless you want me to contact the authorities about the marijuana I can clearly smell being smoked in the rooms above us."
She had never seen a group of so many people look uncomfortable at the same time. She laughed softly again and took a sip from her cup.
"You just have to RUIN this for everyone, don't you? You're so selfish!" Stacey hissed at her again. Kagakusha just smiled pleasantly at her.
"Have you tried the dip? It's rather nice."
Stacey made a disgusted noise, or at least tried to, and left angrily. Kagakusha simply leaned against the table and continued to eat.
She didn't eat very often and when she did, she didn't eat well. However, the simplicity of the chips and the celery/carrot sticks that were layed out pleased her. No one else ate them but her. She supposed they were the false snacks to be displayed should an authority figure come in. She didn't mind. She could dispose of the snacks herself.
She eventually just took to sitting on the table and eating there. She watched the people in front of her. The heat in the room was increasing steadily, due to the amount of movement and the volume of bodies in the room. The music, she found, actually appealed to her somewhat. It was slightly techno, but with some other facets of music in it, and she found that something within her responded well to that. She could feel her heart beating along with the bass drum or the lowest note in the songs and felt exhiliration go through her body as she smiled and nodded her head to the music. She could feel the necklace rhythmically strike her chest as she leaned forward and back.
She watched those around her dance. It seemed strange to her, the way they were dancing. They were not dancing properly to the music, in her opinion. Music like this demanded room, room enough to swing your hair around and headbang. Yet they were far too close, and only moved slightly. She made a disgusted noise at their lack of even being able to dance properly and noted Stacey and the brother of the pair that lived across from her, Todd, dancing together. She snickered.
Two people were watching Kagakusha from behind. Both of them were on the football team and had earned their way there through strength and endurance. Towering over six feet, the two males stared at Kagakusha's back from behind.
"Tha' crazy #$^$^." One of them remarked casually. Both of them had had more then their fair share of beers. "Look't 'er, sittin' there on th' table an' drinkin an' eatin' an' bobbin' t'th' music. Almos' like she was normal, eh?"
His friend nodded.
From behind, the shirt that Kagakusha wore did not appear as voluminous as it did frm the front. Her figure was actually quite plain seen from behind. Her body was thin and slight from lack of proper food by choice. Although she appeared thin, she was most likely not in good health. Of course, it was impossible to tell this from simply looking at her. Her hair floated back and forth across her back, still a mass of curls and wild hair. She had yet to decide whether she liked the curls or not, so some remained.
"Y'know what?" The first sniggered to his friend. "We should teach that crazy-#%#$ a less'n, know what I mean?"
The two words, the adjective and the obscenity, had blurred together in his speech as if they were a name. The second male nodded, then shook his head after a moments thought. Kagakusha bobbed and took a sip from her cup, unaware.
"I bet she's so crazy 'cause she don't get none." The first jock laughed at this as if it was something that was extremely funny. His companion laughed equally hard.
"But how we gon' get 'er up there?" The second one pointed upwards at the ceiling. "She ain't gon' go with us, she'll run away."
"Simple." The first one rolled his eyes. "We get 'er drunk."
"...How?"
The first one apparently hadn't thought this far and paused for a moment. Kagakusha got up and walked out of the room, ignoring the multitude of conversations going about around her. She was able to block out almost any sound she didn't like, and the sound of dozens of people shouting over loud music about things she didn't care about was not something that she liked. She walked into the bathroom, wondering whether the blood was still on her face in it's weakened form.
The two males stared at her cup, which she had left on the table. They stumble towards it and looked at eachother.
"See? Here we go. All we need t'do is put somethin' in this that'll knock her up."
"Like what?"
"Hey, you two!"
Brad, the male who had gotten his hand injured by Kagakusha, walked up to the two jocks. His hand was wrapped thickly in bandages, so much that none of his hand was visible. "What are you doing?"
They didn't have the mental capacity to lie, as drunk as they were. "We're goin' t'get that crazy-#$^$# good."
"Really?" Brad didn't seem very drunk at all, but it may have been his hatred that burned for the woman that kept his thoughts clear. "How?"
"We're goin' t'go an' #$^% 'er! She ain't bad lookin', y'know."
Brad was silent for a moment, as if considering this. He looked around for a moment, then handed them a small white pill. "Someone gave me this. I'm not in the mood to get high, but I bet Kagakusha has never taken it. Put it in her drink, and she'll probably be so out of it she won't know what happened until tomorrow."
The first took the pill from Brad, who walked away, smiling smugly to himself.
They dropped the pill in Kagakusha's abandoned drink, watching it fizzle in the liquid. It slowly dissolved.
