The Waruiyana evolve from the Gencey if exposed to a moonstone that has been touched by human hands or removed physically. Thus, if one owns a Gencey, this is the form that it will most likely take if you present it to a Moonstone. This forms cynical, depressed nature and the lack of the beautiful, wide eyes, the large, feathered wings, and the general easy-going attitude of the Clegencyana, make it one of the most abandoned Pokémon, particularly for those who raised a Gencey hoping to get a Clegencyana, and got *this* instead.
The Waruiyana tell no lies about themselves, knowing to be the less desired option between the Warui and the Clegen, and therefore view life in a quiet, somewhat depressed manner. Knowing that none of their species will ever get anywhere, most of the time when abandoned the return to where they were originally raised, the cave with the Manachu.
For those who do decide to raise the Waruiyana, it's a tough and hard road. The Waruiyana dislike humans, and refuse any training techniques. Plus, there is something about them that just seems wrong, something about their structure or their manner or just their appearance that gives someone the feeling that something is not right. Their eyes are so dead sometimes.
The Waruiyana have never actually been close enough to a human to ever reveal how they truly feel, and perhaps that's the way they prefer it. They rule over the Clegencyana's council, meting out rules and such for their more emotional, and somewhat stupider, counterparts. The intelligence of the Waruiyana is their downfall, for they know exactly what they're missing, and why others refuse to train them.
The Waruiyana breed in much the same way as the Clegencyana, although their rituals are tainted with more of a sense of desperation. They are a rare sub-species and know they have to propagate their own ranks. When the mating season comes about, they naturally congregate in one place, as something within them calls them to others of their species. They mate for life as well, forming the bond, but will often mate with the first of their kind of the opposite sex available, then learn to love them after they have consumated their relationship. This also leads, in part, to their depression and cynicism, as the species naturally does not get along well with others. If their mate dies, they are able to breed again, something with the Clegencyanas do not understand and do not like. The reason for this is that the bond that the Waruiyana make is not one of love, but of necessity, and therefore the disabling of their reproductive organs is foolish. They usually only have one child, sometimes two if they are lucky. The couple spends a lot of time apart usually, and the children learn to fend for themselves quickly.
They are somewhat selfish, very self-reliant, and dislike their counterparts. They prefer fast food to normal Pokéchow and usually refuse to eat anything else. During the mating season they become exceptionally irritable and are the most likely to run away or disappear.
The Waruiyana has been in Howl of a Growlithe and A Puppet without Strings.
The Waruiyana has been mentioned in Nemo Me Impune Lacessit and others.
