Teishi

Scars. Teishi is a servant at the PGRI. Unobtrusive, he rarely speaks unless spoken to and is often assigned to watch or assist those that come to visit the compound. He's small for his age, dangerously thin, and scarred over most of his body. There's only a faint mark over his right eye, matching one that goes across his face, lancing from his left eyebrow down to his right cheek. These aren't easily noticable, as they healed rather well. There is a large scar across Teishi's chest that follows the same line as the scar on his face, and this scar is indeed, visible and quite obvious. It didn't heal correctly. His arms are the most noticable, constantly bruised and sometimes bleeding. Hidden by the dark, unhealthy blues and purples are a series of straight, planned lines that run down his arms. These were healed correctly and they are hard to see. These are his major wounds, but others trace along his body. He has sad, quiet green eyes, medium-length bright blonde hair that's kept back in a ponytail, and pale skin. He's always barefoot and is almost always wearing a tattered black shirt and purplish pants that are too small for him. He's usually found wandering the halls or leading people places.

Teishi was abandoned by his parents upon their learning of his heart condition and not wanting to spend the money to have it treated. It is unknown what they look like, who they were, if Teishi has any siblings, or even if any of his family is still alive. He was found by Michelle and Gabriella just outside of the Pokémon Genetic Research Institute, and he was brought in, shivering and near death. Fortunately, Prof. Denka's knowledge of medicine and the like managed to keep Teishi alive. His weak heart was almost unable to keep a rhythm of it's own, so Prof. Denka created an electric band that would help moderate the boys heart. This band, in the many forms it's taken, is what keeps Teishi alive. Prof. Denka gave him his name. For Sale.Once his life was safe, Prof. Denka and Dr. Kagakusha argued over what was to be done with him. Kagakusha proposed that the boy stay at the facility to be a helping hand for them, something they needed. Prof. Denka could not deny that they needed help, but after that he disagreed. Kagakusha proposed that they make Teishi a living slave, incapable of freewill or of ever rebelling against them. Not understanding her controlling nature, Prof. Denka had little choice but to give the boy over to her, and that's where Teishi's troubles began.

Kagakusha believed the best way to make Teishi obey them completely was to punish him whenever he disobeyed. Prof. Denka found this sickening, and to this day has never participated in harming the boy, but Kagakusha took almost some kind of malevolent joy out of it. Teishi was so young that he could barely remember any of his life outside of the facility and outside of Kagakusha and Prof. Denka's care. Beaten into him when he was a small child was Kagakusha's insistence on the use of "sir" or "miss" and to never say "you're welcome". She beat out of him any kind of decision making skills, and programmed him not only to obey her and anyone else's every command, but to hate himself in the process. Not wanting to have smoldering resentment for her come back to haunt her, she made Teishi believe that he was meant to be abused, meant to be hurt, and that he deserved everything that happened to him. To this day, Teishi believes that he was struck and punished because he was a bad person.

He was given a shirt far too large for him and large pants when he was a child, and had to wash and take care of them himself. He had to feed himself when he got the chance, and soon learned that the only one who was going to take care of him was himself. He's developed a kind of complex about washing things, and he will wash a single article of clothing or any other object for hours, not really thinking, until interrupted. He slept in the hallways, more often then not, and he doesn't really understand blankets or beds.

While growing up, Prof. Denka had to care for many of Teishi's wounds and such, and often he would tell Teishi stories, wishing to do something to help the boy regain some of the free-will he had lost. Teishi loved fairytales, finding them the one thing that he felt he could trust, and began to believe that somehow, somewhere someone would save him. He kept this to himself, but managed to make his way through the tortures of his days by dreaming of his prince who would save him and take him away, and they would live happily ever after. Angel-Teishi! When he had lived in the facility and become used to taking the orders of others, Dr. Kagakusha realized that this could become useful other then having someone to order around when she didn't feel like doing things herself. He could watch people that she didn't have time to deal with. With this in mind, she led Teishi to his first "Master", with the line that she used ever afterward "This is Teishi. Do whatever you want with him".

Teishi's masters ascended in cruelty as time went on. Although his first master began to respect Teishi, he nearly broke Teishi's ribs in frustration. Other masters were curious about the nearly emotionless boy, and tried to find ways to make him react. Teishi had learned through the years to remove almost all emotion from his voice in an effort to not provoke someone. One of his earlier masters wanted the band that Teishi wore to give off a shock. Prof. Denka tried to resist, stating that it was hazardous for Teishi and could possibly kill him, but they were higher up in status then he, and Denka had to comply. After this, the ability to shock Teishi was given to every master. Some used it and some didn't. The scar on his face and over his eye were in showing off how he would not flinch or dodge when struck by one of his more cruel masters. The scar on his chest was a test of his loyalty, and a warning against ever saying what his master had been talking about to someone else. Drak-sama... Through all of these torments, Teishi continued to believe that someone would come for him. Still blaming himself for what happened to him, he refined his ability to never show pain through the years. Now almost nothing can make him scream or cry, and he won't flinch or try to move when someone moves to strike him. He has responses programmed into him, certain phrases that he resosrts to. He has one for apologizing, one for meeting new masters, one for when his master is upset, and so on.

Teishi waited, taking abuse, knowing that someday, someone would come for him. He refused to listen to Prof. Denka, who told him not to believe in his dreams. He refused to listen to a psychiatrist, who told him that he had the power to do what he wanted. All he knew was that he was Teishi, and that his purpose was to serve. When his prince came, he wouldn't have to serve again.

Drak came.

Teishi had never had a master that was around his age before, or one that looked like Drak did. Teishi wasn't sure, but he wondered if perhaps this was the master that was going to finally save him from his torment.

Expecting abuse, he explained who he was and what he did to Drak, who didn't seem to understand. Teishi was confused. Almost everyone understood the concept of a slave...that was what he was. But Drak refused. He refused to believe it, and he tried to convince Teishi that he was his own person. Although the psychiatrist had said something along those same lines, Teishi wasn't able to treat this statement with the unbelief he previously had.

Teishi took care of Drak, who was more often then not constantly in pain, or passing out. He watched him, cleaning his room and spending most of his time with him. Drak continued to tell Teishi that he was a good person, someone who didn't deserve this, but Teishi could not believe him. Crying. The more time Teishi spent with Drak, the less his actions seemed to make sense. Drak didn't want to take advantage of him or use him. Teishi did not understand. Drak even tried to break his emitter, which nearly killed Teishi, and he still didn't understand. Wondering if perhaps Drak was his prince, Teishi finally revealed that he didn't want to stay here, that he never wanted to stay at the PGRI, and begged Drak to rescue him, to take him away from that dark place. Almost positive that Drak would say no, Teishi was in complete shock when he promised the boy that he would take him out. Teishi had never revealed his feelings about the PGRI before, and at the promise of salvation, he felt as if Drak was his prince for sure.

Trying to lead them out, they were caught, and Kagakusha, angry at Teishi's defiance, tried to shoot him. Drak pushed Teishi out of the way, saving his life but getting mortally wounded in the process. This is the most confusing thing that has happened in Teishi's life. Unable to comprehend the fact that someone would try to save his life, to sacrifice their own for his, Teishi could not understand what was happening. When Drak finally healed, Teishi tried to get him to explain, but again his explanation made no sense. At this poin, Drak asked him if he could call him something other then "sir", and for the first time in his life, Teishi finally did. He began to call him "Drak-sama".

After that moment, Teishi decided that Drak was his prince, and he had to follow him, no matter where he went. He became devoted to him and him alone, risking his life and limbs for him, not caring of the pain inflicted if he could save and protect Drak from harm. Drak didn't understand why Teishi became so devoted to him, but that was the only way of showing his admiration and affection for Drak that he knew of. Whipped.

Teishi will follow Drak anywhere, no matter where he goes. He will give his life for him without a second thought, as he believes his own life is meaningless. He believes with all his heart that Drak will rescue him and save him, and he will not be swayed in this belief.
Teishi will not get angry, nor will he protest his treatment. He doesn't argue well, if at all. He is also not too good at revealing how he feels or talking about himself, as he has never had need to do those things. He doesn't understand it when people say that he should believe what he wants, do what he wants, and stop living for other people. He doesn't understand freedom, and in being with Drak, he has been freed. He has simply been transferred to a new master, and in his mind, even if Drak is free, Teishi will never, ever be free. He will always be under the rule of someone, and he will always obey a direct order given to him.

Teishi isn't able to refuse anything. He can't stand up for himself or any of his opinions. He's incapable of saying no, and will agree to conflicting opinions if asked. He will say anything you tell him to say, and do anything you tell him to do. His mind is hardwired to obey a command almost immediately, so he will take commands literally, even if it's embarrassing or inconvenient.

Teishi doesn't know how to feel about Dowasure, who orders him around as the others do, but never hits him or gets upset. More often then not Teishi is assigned to remember things for him. He respects Prof. Denka as one of the only people to be kind to him, for taking care of his wounds. He is terrified of Dr. Kagakusha, but never shows it. He doesn't understand Cyrus at all, but doesn't care for him much, as Cyrus is usually insulting him or asking him questions that he can't answer. Lookin down.Teishi will always call someone "sir" or "miss". He will not change it, even if ordered too, as that was wired into his mind before his obediance to all commands. The only person that has ever broken this rule is Drak, and he is the only one who ever will.

Teishi will do anything for Drak, even let Drak fall in love and leave him behind, if it will make him happy. Even when he hurts inside, or when he's in constant pain, Teishi will never show it, as he is almost incapable of doing so. He talks about most of his scars frankly and doesn't understand why they upset people. He doesn't understand how his behavior hurts people, and he isn't very knowledgable about the rules of society.

Teishi can easily be taken advantage of, and although he is short and thin, he can lift things fairly easily. He's more observant then he looks, and he will not fight. He's good at typing, working computers (as he was often ordered to do by his computer-illiterate masters), sewing, washing, cooking, cleaning, and almost every other mundane task imaginable.

Teishi has been in Koinonayami, Get a Clue!, Devotion, Shoukan, The Rocky Horror Pokémon Genetic Research Institute, 'S a #$^#in' Strange World Out There, A Poofmas Carol, Obediance, Clothes Make the Man, and Hikaru no Ashita.

Teishi has been mentioned in several fics.
