Takachan   -   Dodrio

TakachanTaka, as they were originally called, lived in the Safari Zone until Radic came along. Injured by a rock the boy threw in an effort to catch them, Taka was left helpless and hysterical. Never able to view a situation with calmness and thoughtfulness, Taka shrieked and shouted until finally Radic left to go investigate something.

The other Pokémon found Ta and Ka, the two heads, extremely trying and only Callima was able to speak to the two birds for extended periods of time. Taka refused to believe that Radic cared for them until, when the night was cold, Radic slept against them, giving them his heat. The other Pokémon followed suit, and Taka was touched by their concern, conceding to following Radic on his journeys.

The two-headed bird was the butt of most of the jokes of Kitsune, Nova, and Ruby, something it never got used to. However, the two believed that they were forever destined to never be listened to and generally accepted the abuse. Ta and Ka never listened in battle, often shouting and arguing at one another and only winning by what seemed to be a miracle.

Once, while resting, a Dodrio came to their group and asked why Ta and Ka had not Joined, a process which melds the minds of Doduo and Dodrio into one for easier control. Ta and Ka didn't want to evolve as they discovered it involved them growing another head, another problem, another person to live in their body, and they didn't want it. However, their adoration and devotion to Radic, who was the only person who tolerated them completely, they were willing to undergo Joining, which meant the death of one of them, Ta or Ka, to help him.

Following a map that the Dodrio, Nokami, had given them, Taka and the others headed into a cave, where a being instructed the Doduo to walk forward, alone. Frightened and unsure, Nova's attempt to illuminate the cave ended in him being injured, and Taka eventually moved forward, despite the danger. However, Kitsune had seen what it was and hid on Taka's back, instructing them not to reveal her presence.

However, the entire thing turned out to be a hoax, and the only thing Taka was being promised to was death. Moving closer, inch by inch, Taka advanced until they were close enough, and Kitsune lept forward at the voice that had commanded them here.

It was a large Dragonite that had planned their deaths and now held Kitsune in its grip. Anger flooded through Taka at the thought of how many of their kind had died to the Dragonite. While Ta tried to signal Radic to what was happening, Ka tried to remember how to Fly, the HM that Radic had taught them. Once this was accomplished, they rose into the air and Drill Pecked the large beast, trying to save Kitsune who had, after distracting it, been caught. At this point, Radic arrived, catching Kitsune as she fell and ordering a large joint attack against the giant lizard. The attack was enough to send it on its way through the wall, leaving Taka badly injured.

Due to the battle, Taka finally evolved, and the newest head, Chan, appeared. The moment he did, however, Ta and Ka attacked him and since then have not stopped.

Ta and Ka, the two female (or so they believe) heads, have lightning-quick tempers and are extremely short with everyone they meet. They argue constantly and never stop picking at one another. Chan, the male (or so he believes) head, is quiet and forlorn, having learned from being with Ta and Ka that it's better to stay quiet than to speak. Whenever Chan speaks, Ta and Ka attack him, although most of the time Chan has valuable advice. Although Ta and Ka were never kind originally, all their kindness has been transferred to Chan, along with most of their memories, so now they're crueler than ever to him.

Chan is kind and quiet and has never been known to hate anyone or anything, even his sisters. He's smart and clever, although he doesn't often say so, and will protect his sisters even while they attack him. The constant abuse he receieves hasn't changed his original personality, so although he may have learned to stay quiet, when his sister heads sleep, he allows his true self to come through.

Attempts to change how Ta and Ka treat Chan have so far been useless, as any attempts to change Ta and Ka's behavior makes them even angrier.

Takachan has appeared in any fic where Radic had his Pokémon, and has been seen or mentioned in several others.
