The Problem with Paras!

Here's my rather detailed summary of that landmark episode fer all Parasect lovers! I love doing detailed summaries. I have too much free time. And these are rough approximizations of da dialogue.

Ash, Brock, and Misty are overlooking a small town. It's named Greentown or something like that. It's so small, they're isn't even a Pokégym. Ash votes for skipping it, but Brock points out that they've run out of Potions and Antidotes. Eventually, after some arguing with Misty, Ash consents and they go down to the town. Meanwhile, Team Rocket, looking no more worse for wear since the Exeggutor incident where we saw them last, are watching Ash and his friends as usual. They begin following, but notice Meowth isn't with them. They turn around, and find that Meowth is red and sick. Jessie touchs his forehead, and gets burned because he's so hot.
"Let's go get the Pikachu!" Jessie says.
"But Jessie, Meowth will faint if we leave him here by himself. His fever is too high."
Jessie convinces James that Meowth will be fine, and they should catch the Pikachu. Then a strange girl appears and yells at them.
"WHAT KIND OF TRAINERS ARE YOU TO ABANDON YOUR POKéMON!?"
Jessie and James are surprised and don't know how to react. They start laughing as soon as they get their bearings.
"I don't see what's so funny!" Cassandra,the girl, says testily.
"Us? Meowth's Trainers? You must be joking!"
"We would never train that thing!"
Cassandra begins mixing something up to bring down Meowth's fever.
"Who do you think you are?" Cassandra says.
"We're super heroes!" Jessie says proudly.
"Really?" Cassandra says, sounding impressed. "MORE LIKE LOSERS FOR LEAVING A POKéMON! Cassandra suddenly shouts. Team Rocket chickens out and stops protesting. Meowth eats the potion Cassandra gives him, and gets better fast. Meowth wonders about Cassandra, and is astonished by the fact that she cares about him. Team Rocket remarks on how fast that was, and Cassandra runs off. Meowth looks at her and falls desperatly in love, blushing ferociously.
"Uh oh! He's turning red again! Do you think he's sick?"
"I'M NOT SICK!" Meowth shouts, leaping up and scratching both their faces.
"He's back..." Jessie begins.
"to Normal." James finishes.
The two fall down.

Meanwhile, Ash and his friends step into a dark room, where an old lady pounds down herbs for potions. They approach her.
"Snake root! Guranteed to grow hair on your nose and tongue!"
Ash and his friends are sickened.
"Do you have any non-hair kind?" Brock asks.
"Grandma! Don't scare the customers!" Cassandra says, coming in.
"I wasn't scaring them..." Grandma mutters. Brock looks at Cassandra and falls instantly in love with her.
"You're interested in potions?"
"Oh yes."
"Then, care to discuss them over dinner?"
"I've got a better idea! You three are Pokémon trainers, right?"
"Yeah."
"Then how about a Pokémon battle?"
"I'll do it!" Ash volunteers. Brock doesn't look too happy.

Team Rocket begins to say their motto in the tree their hiding in, but Meowth stops them.
"Stop yakkin and look for the girl!"
"What girl?"
"They girl who cared for me! The light of my life!"
They spot Cassandra, and Meowth is in bliss.

Cassandra takes out her Paras, which doesnt want to fight.
"It seems frightened." Ash remarks.
"All I want it to do is evolve. I need the mushroom on Parasect's back."
"Why?" the three chorus.
"I'm planning to make a super potion out of it!"
"We'll help you! Getting a Pokémon in battle is the best way to give it experience!" Ash says. He kneels down and talks to Pikachu.
"Pikachu, I know this is going to sound strange, but you need to let Paras win, okay?"
Pikachu nods. It walks out.
"Parrrras?" Paras asks.
Meanwhile, in the bushes nearby, Meowth and Team Rocket watch.
"If we train that Paras, I may gain Cassandra's love and affection!"
Meowth says. Meowth and James babble for a minute about love, until Jessie swats them both with a fan and brings them back to attention.
"Pika!" Pikachu says.
Pikachu doges a attack from Paras, leaping in the air.
"PIKACHU, THUNDERSHO-...."Ash is about to say, but thinks about it. "It might be too much for Paras."
"Pikachu, do a little Static shock!" Ash calls out. Pikachu looks puzzled, but sends out a tiny trickle of lightning at Paras. It barely touchs the Paras.
"PARRRAS!" it cries, rolling on it's back. Ash and Pikachu sigh. This is going to be hard.
"If it's type is Bug/Grass....I'll send out Squirtle! Grass is good against water!" Ash thinks. "Go Squirtle!"
Squirtle appears, looking slightly puzzled.
"Squirtle, do a Water Gun, but only sprinkle the drops lightly on it."
Squirtle looks confused, but does so. A few drops splash on Paras, and it rolls over again in defeat. Ash looks crestfallen.
"Go, Charmeleon!"
The Charmeleon pops out, looking angry.
"Charmeleon, let the Paras defeat you!" Ash calls to it. It looks at him, and ignores him. It stomps up to the Paras and lets loose a torrent of fire. Paras is charred and Terrified, and runs. Ash runs up to Charmeleon, who is breathing fire left and right.
"Charmeleon! Why didn't you listen to-" Ash is cut off as Charmeleon breathes fire right at him.
"Ash, are you okay?" The others ask.


Meanwhile, Meowth has been watching the Paras. It walks right into him.

Ash looks downfallen as Paras is nowhere to be found.
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I used to think Charmander evolving was a good idea, but now Charmeleon won't even listen to me."
"You need to be a better trainer." Grandma remarks.
"What kind of Super Potion do you plan on making?" Brock and Misty ask.
"It would be a miracle potion! it would restore Defensive and Offensive abilities, along with Special and Determination! It would also make the Pokémon smarter!"
"A smart potion?" Ash asks. Misty looks smug.
"When you get it, you should give Ash some."
Ash laughs humourlessly.


Jessie and James look bored as Meowth talks to them with the Paras by his side.
"And?" they both say at the same time.
"and..and what?" Meowth asks.
"And if we help this Paras evolve, what's in it for us?" Jessie asks.
"What do we get?"James also asks.
"I'll tell you what you get. If you two help this Paras evolve, you could become rich beyond your wildest dreams!"
Jessie and James instantly perk up.
"How?"
"If Cassandra makes her super potion, she would need a mascot, right? I'm the perfect mascot!"
"So what about us?"
"Well, I was thinking of making you my official business handlers. I'll have a lot of money to handle...." Meowth says.
"Money??" Team Rocket perks up at the sound of the word. They begin their lavish fantasies where they are showered with gold.
"Alright, Meowth, What do we need to do?"
"I need to borrow Arbok and Weezing for a while."
"Arbok?"
"Weezing?"
"Why do you need them?"
"Because losing battles is their specialty."
"He's got a point." Jessie says.
"They're bigger losers then the guy who invented homework." James says.
"How did we get stuck with such rejects?" the two sigh.
Arbok comes out, rearing above the Paras. Paras is terrified. Meowth leaps on it from behind and pins it, causing it to slam to the ground. Paras tenatively taps it, and it rolls over. Team Rocket shower it with praise, saying how it beat it easily. Paras looks very proud of itself.
Weezing comes out. Paras is again terrified. Meowth leaps on a Branch and swings it down into Weezing's face. It falls to the ground. Paras taps it, and it rolls over. Team Rocket shower it again with praise.
"Let's see if it can beat me!" Meowth says. Paras taps him, and Meowth falls over dramatically. Paras looks even more happy then ever. It climbs up a tree and looks ready for battle. Team Rocket hears Ash and his friends walk by. They hide.
"PAARAS!" the group call out.
"There you are!" Cassandra says, spying Paras in a tree. It hopes down.
"Parrrrras!" it says, sounding deeper and more dangerous.
"What's with Paras?" Ash asks.
"I don't know. It's never acted like this before...."Cassandra says, sounding worried. Paras points at Pikachu. Pikachu looks confused.
"I think it wants to battle." Ash says.
"Oh Paras! You finally believe in yourself!" Cassandra says happily. Team Rocket watches and snickers.
"Okay, Pikachu, go get it!"
Pikachu walks out.
"Pika pika?" it says, turning to Ash. Paras uses this oppurtunity to pinch Pikachu's tail.
"PIKA!" Pikachu says, jumping in the air. It turns around angrily and is about to fry Paras.
"Pikachu...."Ash says, shaking his head in a No motion. Pikachu looks upset, but falls over and holds up a white flag. Paras chitters happily.
"Go Charmeleon!" Ash says. Charmeleon comes out. It licks and scratchs itself, ignoring Ash completly.
"Charmeleon! Why won't you listen to me?" Ash begs it. The Grandma comes back.
"When you haven't gained enough experience, the Pokémon won't obey you."
"Maybe Ash should have waited to evolve into a better trainer before evolving Charmander." Misty says.
"Charmeleon, return!" Ash says, holding out a Pokéball. It flames him and stomps up to the Paras, who is terrified. Charmeleon breathes a column of fire at it, and Paras barely dodges. It jumps and skitters around, trying desperatly to avoid the attacks of the Charmeleon. It gets backed up against a tree, and finally it jabs Charmeleon hard in it's stomach. Charmeleon is defeated, and Paras evolves into....PARASECT!

Cassandra is ecstatic, but Charmeleon wakes up and tries to attack the new Parasect. Team Rocket hops out and tells about how they helped train Paras, but Charmeleon smacks them with it's tail and sends them flying.

Parasect shoots out a powder from beneath it's hood, and Charmeleon falls asleep.

Ash finally recalls it. Cassandra thanks them for their help. As Ash and his Friends move on, Team Rocket crashes to the ground. Meowth is getting his head bandaged, and presents the idea of being mascot.

Jessie and James smile, thinking this may be their chance for riches beyond their dreams!
"NEVER!" Cassandra yells at him. Jessie, James, and Meowth are crushed.
"Why not?"
"You're a Super Hero Team, aren't you?"
"Well, We're Super."
"And We're a Team."
"I can't tear you away from your duties! And besides, we'e already got a Mascot."
The Grandma walks in, holding up a Persian.
"Look what I found sleeping in the yard!" she says.
Meowth is crushed, but finally leaves Cassandra behind and followes Ash and his friends wherever they may go.
