Description: The Nyashock is a Mystery.

So far, only one exists, and it belongs to Ella E. The creature is somewhat like a Meowth, only built more like a cat, with brown front paws and large, gentle brown eyes. The fur on its tail constantly stands on end, a result of all the electricity flowing through it. Instead of the coin that normal Meowth's have adorning their foreheads, these Pokémon have a large ruby, cut in the shape of a coin. Also, and most likely the most striking aspect of the Nyashock, are the second set of ears it posesses. Another sign of its electrical half, the Pikachu-like ears that come from behind the headband it bears are indeed, attached to its head. Shaped somewhat differently, these ears behave in the same manner as the auditory ears of the Nyashock, lowering and turning as required.

An odd property of the Nyashock is that whatever you say its name is, it will say that, much in the fashion other Pokémon say their species names. To say that a Nyashock was named, say, Charles for instance, would lead in the Nyashock's repetition of the name "Charles" instead of "Nyashock." No one knows how to explain this or why they do it, but from the one specimen that has been discovered, it has been proven.

Nyashock's seem to be extremely intelligent, able to figure out mental puzzles and such that sometimes even humans cannot devine. Also, acccording to its trainer, it seems that the Nyashock also has prophetic powers. According to her AND the alleged report from the Manachu, it is able to tell the future with the ruby on its head. Others believe that the Nyashock has latent psychic powers, which enable it to "see" the future. Still others believe that it merely deduces a theory of what the future will be, then "projects" it, thus influencing the future to follow the path it desires.

When asked itself, the Nyashock, according to its trainer, avoided the question and didn't answer anything.

According to its trainer, the Nyashock learned several kinds of attacks, such as Thundershock and Twinneedle, due to its nature. Twinneedle functions because of the Nyashock's sharp, needle-like tailfur.

One move, in particular, seems to only be available to the Nyashock when it is in the state of utmost rage and frustration, and it is called "Thunderquake". This move, only performed twice, devastates the entire area around the Nyashock, including any living beings around. The Nyashock's fury doesn't distinguish from friend or foe or scenery, and has destroyed an entire stadium and gym. Apparently, after the attack the Pokémon has no knowledge of performing the attack at all. It was triggered once when the Nyashock had something wet and heavy land on top of it, hurting it, and another when it was teased and mocked, then had its razorsharp fur stuck into its back.

The Nyashock itself seems to enjoy normal catlike foods, such as tuna or cream, and is very picky about its appearance. It doesn't like rude, scheming, or bad people, and will immediately make this obvious. As to what makes a person "bad" is up to the Nyashock itself to decide.

The Nyashocks greatly enjoy leisure and luxery, but never pass up a battle. They spend most of their time lying in the sun or sleeping when they aren't being chosen to battle or being stored in a Pokéball, and their mannerisms are almost completely based on the apparent Meowth side of the parent-ship.

No one knows exactly where the Nyashock came from, whether it was an experiment or the result of a Pikachu and Meowth successfully creating offspring. The Nyashock doesn't say, and no one truly knows. Not even the Manachu knows, or perhaps it does and simply won't tell. That would be in it's nature.
