Monty is yet another of the four that followed Ella E around. Although the rest of them seem to have rather deep and unhappy emotional issues, Monty seems to have come out of the entire affair without so much as a scratch. That's Monty for you - resilient. Monty has reddish-brown hair and green eyes, I believe.

Monty met up with Ella E mostly by accident. Since Monty is older, he first came off as rather arrogant, but soon proved that there was far more too him then that. Throughout the journey, Monty's off-beat humor and general good mood helped keep the others going, and he's rarely if ever sad.

Monty understands why Colt and Caleb hate eachother and it amuses him to some extent. He's able to analyze and understand relationships fairly easily. This usually makes others uncomfortable.

Throughout the HOAG saga, Monty felt a kind of brotherly affection for Ella E that later kind of developed into a more romantic feeling. However, considering how silly Monty can be, it's highly likely that this kind of fling won't last long. However, he does care about the girl a great deal, enough to risk his life for her. He's on good terms with everyone in the original group, and has become especially good friends with Atelli.

Monty also, later on, goes to try and find Drak to rescue him. This does not end well. He's currently waiting with Caleb for news on Colt's condition.

Monty rarely takes anything seriously, always finding a humourous comment or light-hearted joke to take the edge off of things. He also feels rather good about himself and his place in the world and does not suffer, like so many others, from any kind of self-esteem problems. He knows that no matter what kind of crazy stuff happens to him, he'll make it out okay. He's Monty, after all! That's what he does.
