Symphony: Live in Vienna
There's only one relevant track on this really, and it's a version of I Will Be With You. It's nice, but essentially the same as the original.
Strawberry Cream Soda Pop Daydream
As above, there's only one relevant track on this, and it's Lovely Yumemiru Lovely Boy, and if it's the same as the one in the movie, then...
L-O-V-E-L-Y! ~Yume Miru no LOVELY BOY~
~FRICK the person who sent me this was very specific on that I should give credit and I can't find that email. I hope I didn't lose it. Actually, DCo also sent me this, but da other person sent it ta me first, soo...
AHA found it. Anyway. This one came ta me thanks to Richard Guilbault.
At any rate, this song is sugary sweet. It's happy, upbeat, got a cute female singer. It's not like normal Pokémon music upbeat. There aren't any kids or anything. It just sounds like a cute female love song. Pop love song, but cute nonetheless. Apparently, this played during the credits of the Deoxys movie AND during the Deoxys movie. Thanks Nyami. Either way, this is terribly cute and somehow addictive.

ANOTHER COMPILATION OF SONGS WE'VE HAD FOR YEARS YAAAAY thankfully i can crib from the 2003 compilation
DISC 1
Natsuyasumi Fan Kurabbu
~Opening ta Pikachu's Summer Vacation (Japanese).
Also very cute. I think da translation is missin a few lines tho...but I really like it. I enjoy listenin ta da cool synthesizer in da background. It makes me think of summer and happy times and cute Pokémon shorts involving teamwork and things getting stuck in pipes.
English Translation.

~Ending song ta Pikachu's Summer Vacation (Japanese).
Super cute. I love this song myself. It's so happy.

Mezase Pokémon Master '98
~This sounds a lot like the original, except louder and a bit better done. And instead of the squealing durin the interlude, it's different Pokémon. Other than that, not that different.

Personal Rating: ****
Kaze To Issho Ni
~Ending song ta Mewtwo Strikes Back. One of my favorite Pokémon songs, but I can't bear to listen to it anymore, ironically enough. I listened to it a lot when someone I loved died, and it just...I dunno, it hurts too much to listen to it again. I am lame, thank you. But it's still a gorgeous song.
English Translation.

Tankentai o Tsukurou! ~ Let's Prepare an Exploration Party!
~Openin fer Pikachu Tankentai, altho I'm not sure which short that is in English. I'm pretty sure it's Pikachu's Exploration Party or something. I'm dreadfully uneducated considerin shorts other then Pikachu's Summer Vacation. Anyway, this is rather mellow but quite nice really. I like it.

Sora Tobu Pokémon Kids ~ Soaring Pokémon Kids
~GET THIS! It's REALLY pretty, it's got really nice voices, and it's just all around recommended. Man. This is good stuff. Yeah. That beginning. Wow. WOW. I'm such a dork. I think this is da ending ta Pikachu's Rescue, I think. I think.

Personal Rating: ***** (Highly Recommended)
Rival!
~Second season opening! It's a little more downbeat than Mezase Pokémon Master, but still awesome. I haven't heard this one as much as the others (probably because I don't watch the Lugia movie very much where this is the opening), but I still like it. It has a nice feel to it, if that makes sense.
Thanks ta Kurasumasu Hoshi fer da lyrics ta this too.

Personal Rating: *****
Toi et Moi (You and Me)
~Ending theme ta Revelation Lugia I think. I think the opening theme was just Rivals! again, and as far as I can tell it's not a very different version of it, so.
This kinda has a bizarre ring ta it. Almost reminds me of hip hop fer some reason. Anyway, it doesn't sound like yer typical Pokémon song. Doesn't even have da normal singer, really. Doesn't exactly tickle my fancy, but heck, ya might like it.

Pichu Pika SWING!
~This reminds me very much of Pichu Pichu Brothers. Same kinda Pichu in da background and such, same kinda happy bouncy feel ta it. Only no silly piano. Quite cute, but da two of em sound very alike ta me fer some reason...I think this is da opening ta Pichu and Pikachu.

Tomodachi Kinenbi ~ Friend's Memorial Day
~Raizy sent me this great CD (ironically, I believe it was this very CD I'm listing here) with a buncha Pokémon songs that I just found. I think this is da ending song ta Pichu and Pikachu. This is cute, kinda big-band feelin with da horns and all. It's catchy. Hee hee.

OK! 2000
~A heavier, more garage sounding version of da original song. Man I love the energy of this.

Niji ga Umareta Hi ~ The Day a Rainbow Was Born
~Ending fer the third movie. This lady's voice...woah. WOAH. Very slow, emotional kinda stuff. Slower than Kaze to Issho Ni, actually. Pretty good considerin. Man, her voice...those high notes. Woah. Be prepared, that's all I'm sayin. Hmm, all da movies end on a pretty down, mellow note. Weird.

Kakurenbo
~If I'm correct, I think da CD this is this is a popular band (Whiteberry)'s single based on Pokémon and da opening fer da mini-short (Pikachu no doki doki kakurenbo?) fer da fourth movie. Of course, I may be wrong. This doesn't sound like any normal Pokémon singer. Da vocals are really nice tho. It just doesn't sound like normal Pokémon music. It's good tho. Da more I listen ta it da more I like it. It's one of those songs ya hafta listen ta a few times.

Manatsu no Dai Sakusen!
~I can't remember who sent me this! ARGH! I found it while reuploadin zips and such. ANYWAY, this is a cute song. I found out that it's da ending song fer Pikachu no doki doki kakurenbo, so that mystery is solved at last! :B It's very cute and very upbeat tho, really neat. I'm such a techno dork I love da distortion effect around 2:40 ta 3:00. Durrr.

Mezase Pokemon Master 2001 (movie version)
~Cause it can never die. As it turns out, there's a version of this sung by Whiteberry, which was used for the show, and then there's a version sung by Rika Matsumoto, used for the movie. HERE'S THE RIKA VERSION IF YOU WANT IT I assume this is the version that'd be on this CD.

Ashita tenki ni Shite Okure
~I have been spelling this song's name wrong for years, as it turns out. IT'S ACTUALLY OKURE, INSTEAD OF AKURE. HURR HURR. But anyway. Ending ta the fourth movie, the Celebi one. This is interestin in terms of movie endings cause it's got a male vocalist (who is actually Brock's voice actor! Who knew.). However, it is just as slow and emotional as da other endings, however. It's pretty in its own way.

DISC 2
Ano Oka wo Mezashite
~Thanks goes out ta Raizy fer this one again! Raizy is da Pokémon queen. Yes. Well anyway, ya may recall that I mentioned a few songs here sounded kinda country-ish? This goes all da way. It's hokey and silly and best of all, very catchy. Pokémon goes west! It's da opening from da new Pikachu short from da Lati movie. I think it's called, um, "Pika Pika Hoshi Zora Kyanpu" or "Pika Pika Glittering Starlight Camp". Yeah.
English translation.

Pockettaari Monstaari
~Twelfth ending! Both this and Ready Go! Have da same kinda feel ta em at da beginning. It's hard ta describe. This one does have a rather amusing fiddle in it. After that it leads inta a more recognizable kinda Pokémon beat. Very cute. Kinda reminds me of Cotton Eye Joe. After a while this song gets so incredibly addictive. I love this song ta death.

Mezase Pokemon Master 2002
~This song never dies. Fifth movie (Mizu no Miyako no Mamori Gami Latias to Latios or The Water Capital's Protector Gods Latias and Latios) opening. I'm so tired. This, however, is a great mix of da song. This REALLY takes it places, unlike most of da others. This is a REAL remix of it, a real good one too. Get it. Get it now.

Secret Garden
~And this was da last song the person from Germany sent me. Yay fer Germany!
This track (someone just emailed me) is actually from da Lati movie. Anyway, there are apparently two versions of this, one that fades in and a full version, but I'm linking to the full version here. Either way, I don't think it's particularly bad but I don't find it amazingly unique either. It's just kinda there.
Actually, now that someone has mentioned it's from da Lati movie, I can totally recognize it now. It plays when Ash is playing with Latias and Latios in their Secret Garden, appropriately enough. Wow. What a trip. And apparently it's sung in English! I didn't even notice.

Hitoribocchi Ja nai
~Fifth movie ending. I think. This reminds me of Malice Mizer fer some reason. I guess it's just da strange male vocals. Pretty upbeat stuff, kinda...gosh, what's da word...I can't think of a good description fer it at da moment. It's...dang. It grows on you over time tho! Seriously. I feel more sympathetic towards it now not cause I loved the Lati movie shut up.

Bouken no Hajimari Da!!
~Someone sent me this, but I'm blanking on who. I need ta save my incoming mail more often. Anyway, I send my thanks out ta them regardless, and hopefully they'll fergive my sieve of a memory.
Someone actually emailed me and informed me this song is actually da ending song fer da Jirachi movie's Pikachu short, Odoru Pokemon Himitsu Kichi or The Dancing Secret Pokémon Base. This starts out really slow, but then picks up really quick. This chick has yer typical Pokémon type voice, which is happy and light. It's a happy little upbeat song.
I'm preeeeeetty sure the OPENING for the Dancing Secret Base short was a version of Polka o Dolka, but I'm not positive.

~Raizy sent me this again! Hurray! I can't remember what it sounds like cause I'm a bad person. Apparently everyone else who has has loved it, so....yeah. High recommendations fer most. Yup. Apparently da Jirachi movie's ending. I have no idea what the opening song is. I've only seen the Jirachi movie in english, frustratingly enough. I'm assuming it was some version of Advanced Adventure.

Hajimari no Uta
~Song of Origin? I think that's what it translates to. ANYWAY, this is the ending song to the 8th movie, Mew and the Hero of the Wave, Lucario.
Not very Pokémon sounding if you ask me. It's just kinda...I dunno. I don't find it memorable myself. Female vocalists with a guitar background but...meh.

Mamoru beki mono
~Ugh, the Manaphy movie kind of sucked, and it didn't even have a proper opening. BECAUSE IT SUCKED. And even its ending song is annoying. Arrrrrgh. It's just your general slow, sappy song. No surprise there.

I'll Be With You ~ Where the Lost Ones Go (Movie Version)
~This was the ending to the Darkrai movie, and for an idea of what it sounds like, I did not know that until someone told me. This sounds NOTHING like Pokémon music, probably in part because it's sung in English by someone who can actually... you know, sing english.
BUT anyway, it's your general ballad but this is really beautiful and haunting and it has a really lovely countermelody to it at points, and it's just gorgeous. I fell in love with this song before I saw the Darkrai movie, so imagine my surprise when I heard this at the end!
It would be so easy for me to go look up lyrics but my god you do not know how tired I am right now.

ONE
~Yeah, this is definitely the ending to the Shaymin movie now that I'm listening to it. This actually grows on you the more you hear it... it has some resemblance to toi et moi in some ways, with that same sort of vaguely hiphopish feel. The chorus ends up stuck in your head. Not that bad, really.

Kokoro no Antenna
I don't really know what the deal with this CD is, but I assume it's related to the Arceus movie in some way or another. Thanks to Pikachugirl for hooking me up with this. :D
Kokoro no Antenna
~Generally cheery stuff, as usual for Pokemon. Not as hyper as some Pokemon songs, but it has a nice melody and is generally pleasant. I have no idea when or where this plays, but then again I haven't seen the Arceus movie yet which I'm sure is part of it. :B

~Heh, this one has a vaguely disco/electronic sound to it at first, although it smooths out soon enough. WHICH IS TOO BAD I WAS KIND OF ENJOYING THE DISCO FEEL but hey what can you do.

~Huh, a remix that actually changes the song a bit. Notably slows it down considerably. :O It's kind of interesting. A bit more mellow than the original as one may expect.

High Touch 2009
~AND HERE WE ARE AGAIN! This song is so goofy sounding. This version adds some horns and a big band, dramatic feel. It makes sense if it opened the movie. :O Still not very different than the original song, really, but it's nice.

~Definitely Pokemon movie BGM music, so you can probably imagine what this sounds like. Very dramatic. Sadly not very close to the Arceus theme from the game, which is really creepy, let me tell you.

Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver Music Super Complete
Like it says right there, the OST to the new DS game. Although why it's at 320 quality kind of boggles me... it's a DS soundtrack. It's probably not going to make a huge difference. WELL ANYWAY

Dotchi~nyo?
Haha shows how up on Pokémon I am, this ending completely blindsided me when I watched an episode recently. SUDDENLY DOTCHI-NYO??
Anyway
Dotchi~nyo?
~This song is... sort of bizarre. Even for Pokémon. It's sort of all over the place. Tempo changes here and there, kind of weird vocals... This might be one of those things that has to grow on you over time.

Saikou・Everyday! (Instrumental Version)
~I don't know what context there is for this song. What is the context for this song? SOME POKE-EXPERT I AM Well whatever.
Either way, it's very upbeat, very energetic stuff. The kind of thing that would play when a team of underdogs rises up to save the day, that sort of thing. It's pretty nice, actually.
